Detective Treonauts

You may remember that a little while back we reported that the domains Treo650.com and Treo670.com were both pointing to palmOne's website.  However, as these domains are not officially registered by palmOne we were at a loss to determine whether this was some hoax or indeed an indication of future Treo family developments.  Since then it has also surfaced that Treo700.com for its part is an official palmOne registered domain.

An excellent short article over at BargainPDA today sheds considerably more light on this and also offers a similar past story relating to the trademarks fo the names Tungsten, Zire and Veld.  As we all know, the first two became commercial products while the third is still held in some vault somewhere...  At present, we know that the Treo 650 is due to come out shortly but as for 670, 680, 690, 700 and beyond... well... that's anybody's guess right now... 

For my part I am hopeful that we will see many, many more Treo models appearing in the coming 12 to 18 months as was hinted by palmOne's CEO earlier this week.
