Treo 650 Rumor Mill
While palmOne remains mute as to all things related to the Treo 650 taking an "We can neither deny nor confirm any such rumors" approach... However the momentum is building to a point where we can no longer consider the Treo 650 to be 'just a rumour' as its arrival (or at the very least official announcement) is around the corner.
A case in point was Walt Mossberg's recent (Sept. 16) reader response in "Mossberg's Mailbox" where he basically confirmed that the Treo 650 was real and that many of the new features that we discussed in our section "Treo 650 Preview" were indeed correct.
Walt also confirms that the Treo 600 will indeed remain on sale (as previously reported) and that it is very likely that only one carrier (undoubtedly Sprint) will have the Treo 650 so that it may well be many months before other carriers have it as well.
I guess that the Treonauts fans who are not yet with Sprint will soon jump ship to get their hands on the new Treo 650...

I've been using Treo devices (300 and 600) on the SprintPCS network for over 3 years, now...I don't understand why people are so afraid of their old (and deserved back then) reputation. I have had fantastic speed and signal strength all over the USA, and have found their customer service to be no worse then anyone elses. I have also found their wireless Sales department to be far more willing to cut a 'personal' deal then anyone else I have used (Sprint, Verizon, AT&T Wireless).
They and Verizon share the same network, so there is no disparity between them on that count, AND...they have far better packages for combined cell phone, unlimited wireless then anyone else.
I am glad that Sprint will be getting the T650 first, and happily endorse them as a carrier to think about.
