Treo 650 First on Sprint. Very Soon on AT&T?

As you know, Sprint announced last week that it would be the first wireless carrier to offer the Treo 650 and it is anticipated that it will become available to purchase on the 14th of November.  Some of the recent marketing preparations have included a 3D view of the Treo 650 below on Sprint's website.  Also, while it has been widely reported that palmOne would continue to sell the Treo 600 alongside the Treo 650, Sprint have stated that it "plans to sell out its inventory of Treo 600s and then phase out the product".

Although News.com had reported that Sprint will once again be the strongest supporter of the Treo and that the company "has cornered the market [for the Treo 650] for this year, scooping up all of PalmOne's capacity until sometime in 2005", AT&T has now added a dedicated page for the Treo 650 on their website which would seem to indicate that they may release their own version sooner than anticipated (as you will recall I had the opportunity to play for quite a while with the AT&T model while in SF last week).  As you will also note, AT&T is strongly marketing its network's EDGE capabilities which for some avid mobile web surfing Treonauts may prove to be a strong incentive to switch carriers.

Treonauts are more resourceful...

Hrm... I just kinda jumped on the treo bandwagon and I don't really get all the terms. So EDGE is just a faster data connection? I have Sprint right now and I know I get... what, around 100kbps? and EDGE would be faster? And I'd have to switch my phone service to AT&T for EDGE? I'm really looking into the Treo, and it'd be a disapointment not to make use of it's speed to the fullest. Thanks!
