Mossberg on Treo 650 Memory Issue
'Mossberg's Mailbox' in the Wall Street Journal today addresses the issue of the Treo 650 memory.
Walter briefly explains what the whole fuss is about, relates his own experiences using it (after buying one last week he doesn't feel personally affected) and importantly also states that:
"I believe palmOne should have informed users about the new memory scheme, and should have doubled the standard memory on the Treo 650 to compensate, especially since memory is cheap. The company should also have made it much easier to store common data on memory cards."
Reflecting most of our sentiments he still concludes that the Treo 650 is "the best combination phone, organizer and e-mail device on the market" but also throws a parting shot saying that "if I had known about this memory issue when I reviewed the 650 in October, I'd have warned power users to hold off on upgrading until the company had a fix."
We'll have to wait and see how much weight his comments carry - if the past is any indication however there will be waves...
Thanks for being such a great. honest and supportive Treonaut Walt!

Hopefully this will slow down 650 sales to the point Palm will finally fix the issue.
Love my new Treo 650, but would like documentation which gets into all the details of how to use this nifty unit, especially all the different ways of hotsyncing etc.
Any suggestions?

Brent,
Absolutely, you will be able to use all SD cards up to 2GB (and 4GB when they are released) on the Treo 650.
Cheers, A.
My Treo 650 offers me the option to download pdf attachments to emails to card. When I launch Acrobat Reader to view this file, can only find pdf files downloaded from my desktop during a Hotsynch.
Works fine when I download Word or Excel attachments to emails and view them with Documents to Go.
Any ideas?
