No Treo 650 WiFi Drivers After All
Well, I guess that nobody is infallible - even Shadowmite Treo hacker extraordinaire.
After reporting last week that he had found the WiFi drivers in the memory image of the Treo 650 GSM, Shadowmite offered his apologies as he stated that:
I think I goofed, the Wifi drivers are not in the phones memory, that was left overs from when I had them installed on the Sd card, Sorry folks. I had some others double check my work with their own GSM phones, it's not there.
Again, sorry about that...
As they say though, "if you've never made a mistake you've never done anything" so we're not about to give him a hard time on this one.
Actually, there aren’t WiFi drivers hidden in the Treo 650 [Engadget]
Treonauts support all the Shadowmites of this world...

Is possible or not possible to use a wifi card on the treo 650. I am confused. Thanks Christophe
but Shadowmite DID create some wifi drivers using the palmone wifi SD card!
Check them out at the posted url.
Hi, great website.
I'm so pissed at verizon and palm. I bought my phone in June when the Treo 650 was released on the network. They assured me (after many many hours on the phone with un-knowledgeable tech people) that I could use their quick2net dial up connection on the phone. That means I would only use my plan minutes to connect to the internet, not have to spend ANOTHER 50 dollars per months (bringing my cell bill to about 100 per month) to connect to the internet.
Since christmas, I can't connect. They cant figure out why. After many wasted hours, they finally have told me that I was improperly set up, and that I cannot use dial up connection to get to the internet - even though my phone is CAPABLE of this. They wont support it, and have turned me off.
Now I cant even send a picture message. Text messaging is as high tech as I can get. They wont take the phone back, wont cancel me out of my plan, and I'm now stuck with this awesome phone but no internet.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
my 755p works fine with sprint and price for service is not to bad .
