No sight of Verizon Treo 650 yet...
I know that literally thousands of existing and will-be Treonauts are anxiously waiting for news of Verizon's Treo 650 release - or better yet an actual launch!
However, while rumours indicated that we 'could' be seeing this launch yesterday, the day came and went without any joy on this front...
We're therefore back in 'suspend' mode until we hear anything further and I've tentatively reset the countdown counter to an (as yet unconfirmed) launch date of Monday 2nd May.
Considering that other carriers in Europe have similarly announced their 'forthcoming' launch of the Treo 650 months in advance and subsequently delayed its actual release there can be no assurances that Verizon's case will be any different. Nevertheless, I am optimistic that we will have reasons to celebrate in the next couple of weeks and you'll be the first to know of any developments.
For those who "really just cannot wait any longer" you can choose to enjoy the freedom of an unlocked Treo 650 or switch to Sprint or Cingular...
Treonauts are impatient for new launches...

Talked to a verizon rep yesterday. He said that VZW was still working out some issues with the software and that it should be in stores within 1 to 2 weeks. He also confirmed that the phone was EVDO capable.
I talked to a verizon rep this morning 4/21/05 930am and she told me a all hands memo was sent out saying that the treo 650 wont be available untill late may...
I just got a 15% off coupon from PalmOne for registering at the contest the other day. It expires on April 26. My thinking is that VZW will release on April 27 - once all those coupons out there are expired.
I just got off the phone with a rep deep within the bowels of Verizon Wireless, and he said that the Treo 650 looks like it is at least three months away from release. "Can you hear me now?" NO!!!!
I have talked to Verizon people and they all seem to think it will be released closer to June--however, they all still think the phone is under an exclusive contract with Sprint, so I don't exactly have faith in their estimates. It would make sense, buisness-wise, to release it on the 27th, as Michael pointed out.
Mac OS X Tiger: I think VZW will wait for the press to die down on the new Mac OS (www.apple.com), which will be released on April 29. That way, they can have the undivided attention of the tech media. I'd give it about a week or two, so expect the verizon treo between May 6-13.
And what's up with "buisness" people supposedly getting the thing a week before it is released to retail stores? That's just dumb, I think--I'll just claim to be a "buisness professional" so I can get the thing when these people do.
On that note, it better be released the first week of May. Any later than that and I'll have to be admitted.

Reply today to my inquiry regarding T650 availability at Verizon:
The latest Smartphone from PalmOne - the Treo 650 will soon be certified on the Verizon Wireless network. Currently, we are unable to provide information regarding an approximate release date, as this may raise expectations that may not be met. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
While Greg's above posting gives me pause, I've talked with a number of Utah-based VZW reps, who say Monday, May 2 is the day the 650 will be available. I'll believe it when I see it, but I'm optimistic.
