Fresh in San Francisco
I arrived yesterday evening in San Francisco ahead of next week’s PalmSource Mobile Summit & DevCon 2005 which will take place in San Jose from Monday to Thursday and from where I’ll naturally be blogging all about it.
Among others, there will be representatives from palmOne, Cingular, Orange, BlackBerry Connect (is this going live soon?), IBM, Good Technologies and Motricity. More importantly there wil be hundreds of PalmOS developers many of which will undoubtedly use this venue to launch new applications or announce updates to their existing ones.
In light of the many recent developments at PalmSource (Linux developments + new board members with significant mobile industry experience) and palmOne (Verizon launch + LifeDrive launch + Ed Colligan finally made CEO – congratulations!) I anticipate that there wil be many opportunities for interesting conversations and rumours as to the future generation of our beloved Treo.
Please drop me a line (treonauts [at] pobox.com) if you’re planning to attend the conference so that together we can make sure that there is a Treonauts ‘show of force’ at the event
Treonauts love exploring new opportunities…

becareful... folks in town don't say "Frisco" and it actually drives us crazy!
There will also be representatives from Good (GoodLink) there. Since, in past polls (the PIM one specifically), you couldn't comment on Good due to not having an Exchange server or Exchange-based hosted email, I suggest you swing by their area and check them out. Then you'll start to see why they are the best email app out there for Exchange users (think Outlook on a Treo).
Andrew,
You should add your name to the PalmSource bloggers list via the PalmSource DevCon blog. More info here... http://www.rohdesign.com/weblog/archives/000595.html

goodmanse - Ooops... Not wanting to offend local sensitivities (something that I feel quite strongly about after having lived in 10 different countries) I have now changed the title of the offending post...
Bob - look forward to meeting you there.
A. Davis - agreed, too little credit given to Good Technologies... have added them to the list as well.
Cheers, A.
