Thanks, Grazie, Merci, Danke, Gracias...
It's either incredibly easy or incredibly difficult to respond to the kindness of strangers and the last couple of weeks have been particularly full ones on this front...
Aside from the numerous emails that I receive (I read them all but just can't always respond), the hundreds of sites, blogs and forums that link to us and naturally the thousands of Treonauts that visit daily there were a few particularly noteworthy and generous instances.
First there was PC World's team and Editor in Chief Harry McCracken in particular who wrote a post on their Treolog which was nothing short of overwhelming in its praise (I'm really not worthy... ).
Next came, via an anonymous note, a link to a post at Jet Set Lara (who I've now nicknamed Treonaughty ) written by a 'modern-day Courtesan' whose powerful clients apparently prefer Treos (the intelligent and independent minded ones naturally) to Crackberries.
Then, Marc Orchant at theofficeweblog who finally broke down and got a Treo 650 (what took you so long? ) and included us among their two favourite Treo destinations.
Lastly, Jeff Jarvis at BuzzMachine who keeps a watchful eye on what happens here as he still (!? ) decides on which carrier to choose for his new Treo 650 and Halley Suitt who I met at Les Blogs in Paris and later took the time to write how dealing with Treonauts required a special touch.
I'm very grateful for all your kind words and support. Thank you to each and all and have a wonderful weekend!
Treonauts are embracing across the world...

You are a great informations source for french sites like www.palmattitude.org to.
Please, continue your good work !
From a future T650 owner...
Don't forget to remember the popular Palm Addict who links to you on a regular basis. That is how I found your site.
LP - indeed, thanks to Sammy and all the PalmAddict fans!
Cheers, A.
I'm grateful for your site, Andrew. Your information has kept me informed since February, when I first learn about, and began waiting for the Treo 650 (Verizon). And now that I've finally received my T650, I continue to visit the site daily.
Thanks Again!
OK, Andrew, so help me decide.
If any Treo came EVDO, I'd get it in a flash.
I use my Treo as a modem for my laptop (via pdanet) and I'll be doing more of that, so EVDO would have been great.
If that's not in the cards, then I'm already Sprint (with two more phones on the plan I'd have to switch) and may as well stick with Sprint (and maybe get a separate EVDO laptop card).
The advantage to Sprint, besides inertia, is that the data plan is great: $15/month unlimited. I don't think anybody can beat that.
So...
: Who's going to have an EVDO Treo? Is anybody anytime soon?
: Does any data plan beat Sprint's?
Jeff: I made the same decision about Sprint (inertia, great data plan pricing) as you. I agree that EVDO will be most welcome when and if someone actually ships it but currently I don't think there's a better deal to be had, especially if you already have a plan in place with them. I was able to add to add the Treo to our family plan and, with their Fair & Flexible option, if we run over it's an incremental $5.00 per additional 100 minutes.
Andrew: thanks for all you do here at Treonauts. You run a great site packed with excellent editorial and every link I've needed. You have a great sense of community and I love the fact that you regularly give a shout out to others contributing to the conversation.
It may have taken me a while but I am loving the Treo experience! It has reinvigorated my interest in all things Palm and enhanced my mobility more than any other technology addition aside from my Tablet PC.
Thanks Jeff,
I can't disagree with your decision to stick with Sprint either although for me personally GSM is essential for international travel so Cingular's or the unlocked would be my preference.
No doubt, Sprint's unlimited data plan pricing is awesome at $15 compared to Verizon's $45 (particularly for non-EVDO connectivity). At $25 Cingular sits somewhere in between the two.
I've actually been in the same situation as you regarding signing up for a dedicated high speed network data card (EVDO or 3G in Europe) but I haven't yet made up my mind on this front (not helped by the fact that an unlimited plan would set me back $160 per month in the UK...). Having said this, if I was in the US I would not hesitate to get the laptop card if regular and 'heavy' mobile internet connectivity was required - for all else using the Treo 650 as a modem on a slower data network should be more than adequate.
: Who's going to have an EVDO Treo? Is anybody anytime soon?
>>> This is currently the $1 million question... The answer should be 'Yes' but there's no indication as to who or when...
: Does any data plan beat Sprint's?
>>> Unbeatable.
Let me know what you decide to do and I'll naturally keep you posted on Treo EVDO developments.
Cheers, A.
Thanks again Marc,
Let's work on showing the rest of the world what they've been missing!
Cheers, A.
Did I hear somewhere that perhaps the Treo 700p might be available from Sprint in March '06?
My company is ramping up to take care of our cell phone bills (yay!) and is going with Sprint. The only thing that seems like it will do EVDO with any justice is the PPC-6700. I'd rather have an EVDO Treo.
I'm crossing my fingers since we have 60 days to "try out" the new phones, and by then it'll be March :)
