mPower SynCh Treo Charger: Charging Your Bluetooth Headset While On The Go
As I mentioned in my recent review of Bluetooth headsets one of my favourite ones is Sony Ericsson’s HBH-662.
However, when it comes to travelling with my HBH-662 I have been less than happy because of the need to also have to carry its separate and fairly bulky charger. Thankfully I will no longer have to do this. The new mPower SynCh Charger ($34.95) which I received a few days ago now allows me to charge via USB both my Treo and headset simultaneously with a single accessory.
The retractable mPower SynCh Charger comes with four bundled connectors. The first is to charge and hotsync my Treo and the others are for Sony Ericsson, Motorola and Nokia bluetooth headsets. Additional connectors can also be purchased separately to power other devices such as mp3 players and digital cameras.
If like me you travel extensively, need to power your headset while on the go and would prefer to save as much weight as possible then this new mPower SynCh Charger will prove to be just the right accessory for you.

I did not know USB port could be also source as a power outlet.
I think great idea, great product, but pricey for such comfort.
Hey Andrew, I take it that the Sony Ericsson HBH-662 is your favorite BT headset for the time being? I can't decide between that one and the Palm one.
Hi all, my company is the inventor and manufacturer of the SynCh Universal Sync Charger. Regarding the question about the sync button, no we do not offer that at this time. It's something we're looking into.
However, we do offer mTips for a variety of other products, including cellphones, iPods, cameras, PlayStation Portables, and of course the Treo. Coming soon will be an mTip for Palm headsets.
Regarding the price, we hope people appreciate the value our product delivers, especially compared to the expense and hassle of purchasing/carrying separate chargers and data cables for all your devices.
If anyone has any questions, please visit our website or email me directly. Cheers!

if/when you add a hot sync button option, do you think it will be available as an attachment for those who have already purchased your current device?
Call me a luddite (with a Treo 650, heh), but the headset charging issue is exactly why I don't care to own a BT headset -- it's just one more thing to make sure I keep charged. While I can certainly think of jobs or tasks where a wired headset would be cumbersome (physical therapist, auto mechanic, etc.), for things I do it's not a problem. And it's nice to know that the wired hands-free will always work!
Regarding the hot sync button, it depends how we engineer that into the product. It may make sense to create a new Treo mTip, with the hot sync button built into the tip. We're looking into this.
FYI we now have support for Cardo headsets, eg the Scala 500, in addition to Motorola, Nokia and Sony Ericsson headsets. And we expect to have support for Palm headsets in a few weeks. Check out our headset mTips at http://www.mpowerproducts.com/mtips-headsets.htm
We have added support for additional headsets, including Palm and Plantronics, to the SynCh. Support for more headsets, including the Jabra JX10, is coming soon. Check out our product lineup at http://www.mpowerproducts.com
