New Limited Edition Treo TripKit

When I wrote the post about my “Treo 650 Travel Gear Essentials” a few months ago  (image below) some Treonauts pointed out that one thing missing was a travel pouch to keep all of the accessories neatly organised.

I guess that someone at Palm must have been watching because they’ve just released a new limited edition Treo TripKit (below) priced at $199 (a $299 value) which I really like because it provides new Treonauts the opportunity to make one single purchase which bundles most of the key accessories that an executive traveler will need in an elegant leather roll-up.

The Treo TripKit includes:

1. Premium leather travel roll-up—neatly and luxuriously house your essential Treo accessories. Ultra-soft black Napa leather, lined with 100% cotton canvas, this ingenious travel bag has customized pockets for each included item, plus extra pockets for additional essentials and two hidden SD pockets tucked behind the snap pockets.

2. Elegant leather case—dress in the best with lush lambskin side case designed exclusively for this kit. Stylishly flush-fitting magnetic closure keeps your smartphone secure.

3. Bluetooth headset—communicate with convenience—hands-free and without wires.

4. Vehicle power charger—recharge from the road so you won't run low.

5. Extra battery—carry a spare for when there's no place to plug-in. Provides up to 5 to 6 hours of additional talk time and up to two weeks of standby time.

6. Stylus pen—jot quick notes on paper, or use it to tap your Treo smartphone screen.

7. International travel charger—stay empowered, even when you're far from home with this ultra-slim international travel charger for 110-240 voltages, handy six-foot cord, and plug adapters for the UK, Europe, Australia, and the US.

Moreover, in my case there would be enough free pockets left to also store my TomTom Navigator GPS unit for example.

Additionally, Palm currently have an offer where the Treo TripKit can be had for only $149 with the purchase of any new Treo 650 smartphone directly from Palm (a $50 discount will be automatically applied as long as both items are included in the same order).  Only shame is that Palm is only offering the TripKit as part of the bundle and not on a standalone basis…

Treonauts always have the right kit for every trip

Hi, I know this is probably a dumb question, but where did you get the USB cable that is connected to your SD card reader??

Blake - you can get the SanDisk SD Card Reader directly at the Treonauts Shop by following this link:

Hey Andrew,

I have a couple of questions for you.

Is it possible for me to buy the leather roll up pouch seperately that comes with the Treo TripKit? I have bought practically most of the stuff that comes in it individually. So doesn't make sense for me to buy the entire kit.

Also, I want to unlock the phone though since I'm travelling to Europe/India soon. Is it worth paying $20-$60 to someone online like, GSMLiberty.com or others to get it unlocked? I value your response.

Thanks and keep up the great work...there's always something new I get to know about my Treo daily by reading your site.

I know the SD reader is available in the TreoNauts store, but what about that specific USB cable. I like the short length of it. Any idea where I can get one??

by Andrew | Nov 24, 2005 7:48:37 AM

Blake - the short USB cable comes bundled with the SD Card reader.

Ashwin - unfortunately Palm are currently selling the roll-up only as part of the entire bundle and so one can't buy it separately. We are however looking at adding a similar item in the Treonauts Shop soon.

As for unlocking your Treo I cannot unfortunately provide you with any advice as I've never tried to do this myself.

Cheers, A.

Love your website. Used it to purchase my accessories. I notice you didn't mention anything about DataViz new 8.0 with native pdf functions for treo's. I found about it from another website.
