First Pictures of Treo 'Hollywood'!?

We know that aside from the forthcoming Treo 700p now rumoured to become available at the end of May, Palm is planning to release two other Treo smartphones including one code-named ‘Hollywood’ which would be “a slimmer, fancier 3G/GSM [model] without external antenna to appeal to European customers and likely to be launched by Cingular in the US”.

Unfortunately, aside from my mockup of this Treo Hollywood (below compared to the Treo 650) there hasn’t been a single picture leak of this new model keeping us guessing as to what it might look like…

However, burried in a TreoCentral Forum thread I found images posted by someone claiming that ‘a friend’ had bought an antenna-less Treo (pictured below) that he’s currently using on Cingular.  Since these images look legitimate (or a very good Photoshop job) combined with the fact that I haven’t seen a ‘blue’ Treo like this before and also that the only Treo without antenna that I know about is the famed ‘Hollywood’ could these be the first images?  I’m very much inclined to think so…

Compared with the same angle image of the Treo 650 (below left) and Treo 700w (right), the purported ‘Hollywood’ model seems to keep the ‘rounded’ design of the 650 instead of the ‘angled’ one found on the 700w.

Naturally, as others have also pointed out, these images would be significantly more credible if they showed the front screen and keyboard instead of just a section of the back where the antenna has been ‘cut’.

Still, whether these images of a future Treo ‘Hollywood’ (or other Treo model) are real or not at least they provide us with a better idea of what this future model might look like – one that I personally would like to get my hands on ASAP

Dustin - apologies, it's not a tease and I'm trying to fix the issue...

Cheers, A.

If its real, it will be the Lowrider, not Hollywood. Its rather thick and unstylish. Nothing Hollywood about it at all.

Surur - that's certainly a possibility but without the antenna whether it's Lowrider or Hollywood will be great in my book...

Cheers, A.

I doubt its a photoshop. It looks more like a small cut and fiberglass job, which would explain the repaint...

Apparently it has the custom seido battery cover with reset hole. Its a definite fake. With all the fakes going around these days I get a feeling people are getting off making fun of the POS community.

This is as bogus as it can get. I have one question.

I understand taking a blurry picture as bigfoot is running away from you, or the UFO that landed in your backyard was zooming away as you grabbed your camera, but WHY, WHY, WHY is every "spy" photo of a as of yet unannounced product blurry?????

You have the damn thing right in front of you.
It's not moving.
It's not being viewed through a window or display case.
IT'S RIGHT THERE!

I agree with Tony. And why POST a fuzzy pic. Does the camera you're using have only enough storage for three pics. Take another 2 seconds out of your life and capture a decent picture for crying out loud!

Tony, Blake - reading my post you'll discover that I didn't take the pictures... If I had had the device in my hands it's fairly obvious that I would have posted pictures from every conceivable angle...

Evidently, the person that did take the pictures wanted to tease us all by only showing this one part where the antenna is gone.

Cheers, A.

Oh, Andrew, I totally understand. My post wasn't really directed to you. I should have been more clear. I was referring to the person who took the photo. I know you didn't. You're much more sophisticated than that and wouldn't do that to us Treonauts. Thanks again and do you think the May 28th day is credible? Is there ANYONE on this Earth you can recieve a close verification from that the May 28 date might be true? Please help us Andrew! You're the best!

Also, I find it very peculiar that other than not having an antenna, it looks to have the EXACT same design of the 650...
