Travel Light(er) With The New Treo DuoCharger Combined Wall & Car USB Adapter
I can’t remember the last time that I used a standard wall charger to power my Treo or any other electronic accessory such as my Bluetooth headset or TomTom GPS receiver. I simply find it completely ridiculous to have to carry three separate chargers for each of these when just one charger to power them all would evidently be enough.
Like many other Treonauts, USB has become the preferred source to power my Treo and other accessories. In order to be able to use USB to charge your device you will evidently need a ‘powered USB port’ to plug into (with a Retractable S&C Cable or a standard USB cable) from either:
- your desktop/laptop
- a USB Wall Adapter (pictured above left)
- a USB Car Adapter (above center) or
- the new DuoCharger 2in1 USB Wall & Car Adapter (above right)
Thanks to the DuoCharger I am now able to power my Treo at home, work or on the go from any wall outlet – in this case below using a retractable sync & charge cable.
As well as my Motorola H700 BT Headset…
Also, giving you a preview of more things to come very soon, below is a Portable Battery Charger + Extended Battery using one of the forthcoming special “USB Tips” (in this case a USB A-B Adapter) that will become available in the Treonauts Accessories Shop. There will also be tips to power your GPS receiver in the car, your Treo, BT headset and many more…
Overall if you need to power your Treo and/or other accessories from a wall outlet at home, work and/or when travelling as well as in your car then reducing the number of chargers and adapters to carry by using the new DuoCharger 2in1 USB Wall & Car Adapter will undoubtedly prove extremely appealing to you. In my case at least, this is one accessory that has been categorically been added to my top Treo accessories list.
Treonauts always optimize what they do…

This basically replicates the functionality of the original VersaCharger. The DuoCharger appears to be one generation behind though, as the new VersaCharger Pro is more efficient and has been redesigned so that the USB jack extends from the front of the device rather than the top when plugged into a wall outlet, preventing it from blocking the second outlet.
Good concept, I know it can be a hassle to have to carry around chargers. I hate how you have to purchase a separate charger for ipods, as if they aren't already making a killing. Just curious, which TT do you have? I'm in the market for one myself and have heard good things about the 910-- one of my friends is letting me borrow his this weekend so I'll see how it goes.
OK so where did you get that USB-to-H700 charging cord?
You don't appear to sell it and you have commented on how it's not available, but here it is in the photo. Pray tell. THX
MJC - that particular miniUSB cable is bundled with the Limited Edition D&G H700.
However, you can now have this cable as part of the SPE ExtraPower USB Tips Bundle http://shop.treonauts.com/content/accessories/5-19--1772.htm
Cheers, A.
