Krusell Handit Multidapt Treo Case Review
I have generally not been a particularly been fan of Treo Flip-Lid cases but a friend [thanks Oliver] recently introduced me to the Krusell Handit case (shown for the Treo 700 here but also available for the Treo 650 and Treo 750 with the new Krusell Orbit) raving that it was the best case that he’d ever used so naturally I decided to take a closer look.
Like all other Krusell cases that I’ve had the opportunity to previously evaluate the Handit model is extremely well built with high quality fine grain leather that makes it a pleasure to hold in your hand and use on a daily basis.
A solid back, thick front cover as well as fine and durable stitching ensure not only that your Treo will be well protected but also that the Krusell Handit case will endure the test of time and last years of use.
The thing that really sets the Krusell Handit case apart is what I call its “double flip-lid”. By completely opening the front cover, flipping and clipping it at the back (image above) you’re able to form a sort of “hand strap” to better hold your Treo (image below) and ensure that the lid does not keep dangling around – particularly when you’re making calls.
The flip-lid shown fully extended below can accomodate some business cards or a credit card as well as a spare SD card.
Additionally, the Handit case provides openings for the camera, back speaker and other connectors and also benefits from Krusell’s unique Multidapt clip system and this model includes a slide swivel clip (below right).
Finally, because the swivel clip is placed at the very top of the case I also found that the Krusell Handit case is much less prone to press against your hip when sitting down for example – a frequent complaint that I’ve heard and experienced from other belt clip cases.
Although I still don’t see myself personally switching from using one of my preferred Treo Pocket Pouch, Holster or Side Pouch I can at least now better appreciate how flip-lid cases such as this one have something unique to offer as well.
Treonauts always look for unique design…

Hey Andrew - Great review as always...
Out of curiosity, why are so many 3rd party accessory providers so slow to market with Treo 680 specific accessories? Even Seidio, when you select on their "Products" link on their website, and look at the "Accessories by Featured Model," they list every Treo product OTHER THAN the 680. What gives?
I was a long-time 650 user, and now a hooked 680 user, but the lack of dedicated accessories is frustrating. This product was formally launched in October if memory serves...
Anyway. Would love your thoughts, or if I'm way off the mark, a simple slap upside my head would work just as well! =-)
Thanks,
SC
SC - that's a great question... My understanding is that the relative lack of custom accessories for both the Treo 680 and Treo 750 stems principally from Palm's reluctance or inability to provide 3rd party accessory manufacturers with 'pre-production dummies' that they can use to begin moulding new products. It will typically take 4 to 12 weeks for a manufacturer to deliver a finished accessory and we should therefore begin to see more product releases in the coming month or so.
Cheers, A.
This case reminds me a lot of my rhino skin case. The price is the same. The differences I see are that my case flips from the bottom instead of the top and it also has two credit card slots and two SD card slots. You can attach the cover in the same way to hold it easier. That's particularly nice for women with smaller hands. I believe it comes in 4 colors. I love it!
