New DoubleTalk 2in1 Treo Car & Wall Charger

As I recently mentioned in my Top 10 Treo Acessories post, I always thrive to keep my Treo as fully charged as possible at all times and I own an extensive assortment of accessories to help me to this at home, work and on the go.  I was therefore naturally very curious to review the new Mobi DoubleTalk integrated car and wall charger pictured below.

The well built and patented DoubleTalk is slightly smaller than a pack of cigarettes (3.0” x 2.5” x 0.9”) and weighs 3.4oz (97gms).  A side ‘arm’ extends folding out (above left) – locking in four positions – to fit in your car’s DC power outlet while the AC wall power plug folds out of the back top center area of the unit.  Additionally, the Treo charging cord extends to a full 60” (150cm) providing you with plenty of room to manoeuver in the car or office.  Finally, thanks to two flaps that open on the right side of the unit (below) you can also fully wrap the cable around the unit when travelling.

Another point that distinguishes the DoubleTalk is the fact that it’s a “rapid charger” thanks to dual AC and DC output rates of 1000mA compared to the typical 500mA for USB charging devices (such as the Mobi DuoCharger that I have been using in combination with my ExtraPower+Sync cable), 500–800mA for most other car chargers and 700–1000mA for wall chargers.

Overall I really like the convenience of a dual car and wall charging solution that the Mobi DoubleTalk offers but I’m not yet quite sure that this is the option that I will personally choose to use in the future to replace my current DuoCharger setup.  Having said this the DoubleTalk is a great little tool that offers unique benefits and which has already proven very appealing to many.
