egrips Skin For Your Treo
As I’ve mentioned on numerous occasions I typically prefer to keep my Treo “naked” and rarely use any silicone skins or shells. However, if you’re concerned that your Treo is a little bit too slick and slippery in your hands there is one type of “body skin” that I can highly recommend: the egrips.
egrips are a thin, precisely pre-cut “appliqué” that effectively prevents your Treo smartphone from slippling out of your hand or off any surface thanks to a patent pending “microdimples” technology material (image below) which offers some rather incredible adhesion properties.
According to the company, egrips is made from a specially formulated dimpled silicone elastomer (each dimple above is close to a tiny 0.5mm in diameter) which provides a grippy, non-slip, protective silicone adhesive material that has an extremely high coefficient of friction, which prevents devices from sliding around on car seats, center consoles, counter tops, desktops, laptops and even your shirt sleeve.
The six pre-cut egrips panels (available in either black or transparent) are easily and quickly applied to the sides and back of your Treo and the package includes two alcohol prep pads to help clean your smartphone of dust or dirt and ensure the best adhesion of the appliqués.
The best way to demonstrate just how aggressively “grippy” the egrips are is to place your Treo on any smooth, flat surface at up to a 75/80 degree angle (image above) and you’ll be able to see that it literally sticks solidly in mid-air as if it had been glued to the surface – pretty amazing material technology. Naturally, this stickiness ensures a similarly strong grip for your Treo in your hands.
Overall, the egrips offer an excellent solution for any naked Treo out there. The only note that I will make is that 1) because of their extreme adhesion properties, egrips will not fit certain Treo cases and 2) you may find it difficult to put your Treo into tight fitting trousers. Having said this, I tested both the bestselling P6 Pouch Case and Helix Treo Holster with a Treo 680 and thankfully there was no fit problem at all.

Comments
Kirk - egrips do not absorb dirt or oils and are easily cleaned with a damp cloth. I have not found there to be an issue with lint from my pockets either.
I hope this helps.
Cheers, A.
Andrew - Will applying egrips to my Treo prevent it from fititng in the standard Palm cradle? I have a 700W. Thanks!
Greg - there is no problem whatsoever fitting your Treo with egrips in the Palm Cradle Kit - the profile of the egrips really is ultrathin.
Cheers, A.
I had these on my old 650 and was disappointed with their durability, especially around the edges of the stickers. The silicone will eventually rub off and you'll probably want to replace them, probably about once a year.
