Treo 755p Battery

Owners of the recently released Treo 755p smartphone now have an expanded battery choice with a set of three Treo 755p batteries in a range of 1600, 2100 and 3200mAh capacities now available for their device.

The first is a standard replacement Palm 1600mAh Battery for Treo 755p priced at $39.95 (above top left) which provides up to 4.5 hours of talk time and 240 hours of standby time.

The second is a Seidio 2100mAh Extended Battery for Treo 755p priced at $59.95 which provides some 30% more power or up to 6 hours of talk time and 320 hours of standby time.  Importantly, although this battery is minimally thicker (pictured in the middle below) than the standard Palm battery it can still be used with the original battery cover that comes with your smartphone.

The third is a Seidio 3200mAh Ultra Extended Battery for Treo 755p priced at $69.95 which provides double the power of a standard Palm battery or some 9 hours of talk time and 480 hours of standby time.   

The added power that this 3200mAh battery provides is undoubtedly great and because it is nearly twice as thick as the standard battery it requires a larger battery cover (pictured below) which naturally adds some bulk – albeit it’s a fair compromise for those who absolutely want or need the higher battery capacity.  [Please note that the extended battery cover is included with the 3200mAh battery but currently only available in Blue and not Burgundy.]

In addition to the original Palm battery that came with all Treo smartphones, my personal choice has always been to add at least one standard battery and one extended battery to power my Treo.  For example, whenever I fly between the US and Europe (a 9 to 10 hours flight) I choose an ultra extended battery and thus ensure that I can always work, listen to music or watch movies while on the go.

Therefore, for the many Treo smartphones that I own my choices have been to add:

• Treo 755p: a 2100mAh and 3200mAh.
• Treo 680 battery: a Palm 1200mAh Battery and Seidio 2400mAh Extended Battery.
• Treo 750 battery: a Palm 1200mAh Battery and Seidio 2400mAh Extended Battery.
• Treo 650 battery and 700: a Seidio 2400mAh Extended Battery and Seidio 3200mAh Ultra Extended Battery.

Finally, I can highly recommended the excellent ultrasmall and ultralight Palm Treo Battery Charger (above) – it will fit and charge literally all of the above batteries (albeit with the 3200mAh the lid will not close completely).  If you prefer, another option is the Palm Treo Cradle Kit which I personally use at my desk and next to my bed for overnight Treo + Battery charging.
