iPhone Accessories, Reviews and News - iPhoniacs

iPhone vs. TreoAlthough my preferred smartphone choice remains our beloved Treo or Centro the (unfortunate) fact is nonetheless that a great many people have chosen to leave the Treonauts community by deciding to get an iPhone and becoming iPhoniacs instead.

As I have mentioned on a couple of occasions previously, although the iPhone has some undeniable unique benefits (its slimness, battery life, large touchscreen, user interface and superior browser among others) it is a device that has ultimately failed to win me over as a full time user even after testing it for more than a month as my primary smartphone.  This may change in the future (particularly if Apple releases a physical keyboard version and when their SDK becomes available) but for now at least my allegiance is still very much in the Treo and Centro camp.

iPhone Accessories

Having said this however, many former Treonauts have repeatedly asked me to consider building a similar community with news and reviews as well as an iPhone accessories store to help them enjoy their iPhone as much as they had enjoyed their Treo.  It has taken a while to build but I’m glad to say that the result of this development (by no means complete yet) is the new iPhoniacs community.

Like Treonauts, iPhoniacs will aim to represent the essence of what it means to be an iPhone smartphone owner and provide the very best news, editorials and iPhone accessories, software and services reviews.  Although I will be a frequent contributor of reviews on iPhoniacs I will not be the main or only writer as I believe that it is a community that deserves to be led by someone who is as dedicated and passionate about his/her iPhone as I am for my Treo – we’re still looking for the right person(s).

Judging by the number of people who have stopped me in the street, at a store, bar or restaurant asking where I had purchased my iPhone case (I currently use this Incipio ORION Sleeve Case in Black) there is clearly still too little information available to help people make the right accessory choices.  If you have made the move to the iPhone or know someone who has then please point them to iPhoniacs where they will find news, reviews and the largest selection of accessories as well as a special introductory offer of a FREE iPhone headphone adapter ($9.95 value) with any order.

Separately, if you feel that you’re a dedicated iPhoniac and would like to actively help us grow this community as a forummaster or moderator in our forthcoming forum, as a news or reviews writer, as a graphic designer to improve the look and feel of this website or a potential partner please contact me via email at iphoniacs [at] pobox.com

The graphic does not do this justice. Having just got my iPhone and (finally) giving up hope of a Treo update, I can say the graphic should have Apple stomping on Treo.

Without a doubt the best business phone, easiest to setup, use and navigate. Yes, the keyboard us lame...but the speed, ease of use, navigation data syncing...it blows Treo out of the water.

My wife and I love our Centro's for the vastly superior calendar (try setting your haircut for every 6 weeks for the rest of the year on your iPhone) and calling functions with far fewer steps than the iPhone. I Couldn't live with ATT's network now having tasted Sprint's 3G speed, lack of dropped calls, etc. Email is now 10 seconds vs. 2 minutes at ATT. Finally, I love the size and feel of the Centro.

Andrew:

The iPhone is a pretty excellent device. Just blogged about it here:

http://buzzmodo.typepad.com/buzznovation/

But the one thing you should be selling are iPhone chargers for say a car, as it really sucks the battery, and I try to keep mine plugged in all the time!

But it works great other than the things I mention on my blog post!

Cheers..

I can't help it, but I got the feeling, the only way for Palm is down from now on.
This feeling started last week, when Palm choose to ignore the Google Linux Platform -Android-, and still trying to develop their own Linux version, with a lame excuse about hardware and software compatibility. What the heck, Palm you are allowed to create your own drivers for the Android platform.
Yesterday I read, about Access which has presented a Palm Virtual Machine for the new Nokia Internet Tablet (bye TX!)
And today, Andrew is spreading his risks/investements to, betting on the iPhone platform.
Tsss!

On the QEW highway just west of Toronto there's a dealership called "Bud's Jaguar". It's next door to "Bud's BMW".

Bud is not brand loyal, he's just out to sell cars.

I had to work within the auto industry to understand that brand loyalty is not a strong concept. Dealer principles not infrequently own one brand dealership here, and the chief competition to that brand dealership across the street. Whatever, just sell some cars. If this brand is down this month, hopefully that brand is ok.

Warren Buffett drinks 5 Cherry Cokes a day. Why not, he owns a significant share in Coke Inc. I wonder if he also owns Pepsi shares...just in case...

My Verizon Treo 650 will not (bluetooth) link with my new Prius "hands free" phone system. Neither Verizon nor Palm care - I have discussed the matter with them. Their "fix" is for me to buy a new phone. The iphone (and many many other phones) will link very well with my new Prius. Now let's see.... Do I buy another phone from a provider and manufacturer who obviously don't care that they sold me a lemon; OR do I buy an iphone? Hmmm....

The indispensable programs that I use most often on my Treo 700P are: Bonsai Outliner, Poket Money, and Pocket-Tunes Internet Radio. Do you think that I'll ever be able to use these (with one hand) on an I-Phone? I'd love to have these programs in a slim and slick plate like the I-phone.

I dont believe as many people are leaving the treo they are just leave treonauts site because it is hardly updated. The reviews are old, where is the reviews for the latest bluetooth palm branded headset, blue ant z9 just for example. The last change was some GPS keychain review. I dont think most of us give a damn about. I am not going to mention names but everytime I check out what is new on this site it is the same day after day.

Just my 2 cents

The iPhone 3G are selling 2x as fast as the original and lines are constantly forming outside of Apple stores and other carriers It’s a great time to personalize your iPhone by choosing any accessories that suit your personality and lifestyle. Apple Stores and most other consumer electronics specialty shops carry these cases. Do a careful search at an online auction site, such as eBay, and you may find them there. Um… check out these iPhone 3G Accessories,Maybe you will like it

Hello,
The Motorola Droid Bionic has been buzzing around the internet for quite some time, it's caused a lot of confusion and chaos through out the internet. The Bionic was supposed to be one of Verizon's first handsets to be fully LTE-equipped. But due to complications, the project was dumped - but the name Droid Bionic does still live on a phone that was formally known as the Motorola Targa.
