The new Cellet Centro Cradle finally delivers the level of quality, design and value that has quickly and very easily allowed me to award it with my Editor’s Choice for Best Centro Cradle.
The Cellet Centro Cradle offers an elegant, very slim (only 0.75”) and almost square base (4” x 3.5”) - a solution that allows you not only to charge and Hotsync (via included USB cable) your smartphone but also to keep a spare Centro battery charging simultaneously as well.
The front of the cradle (above) provides a short translucent sleeve to quickly and easily insert your Centro. At the same time a small blue LED light at the front left indicates that the base is powered and ready to charge your smartphone.
One of the things that I like best about the Cellet Centro Cradle is that it’s nearly half the thickness of previous models such as the Mobi Battery Cradle. The Cellet version also happens to be much more robust and elegant thanks to its high quality black plastic construction and a good weight to keep the cradle steady at your desk (along with four large flat rubber feet at the base) – you can clearly feel that the designers have put both care and thought in putting this together.
The back of the unit for its part provides access to both the USB and DC power ports as wel as the battery charging base which easily accomodates either your standard Palm 1150mAh battery or Palm 1850mAh Extended Battery. There’s also a small green/red LED light which indicates that the battery compartment is powered and ready to charge.
Both a USB cable and DC wall charger are included in the package. Using just the USB cable allows you to charge and Hotsync your smartphone from your PC while using the wall charger allows you to simultaneously charge both your Centro and spare battery (you can also have both the USB cable and wall charger plugged into the cradle at the same time).
Overall, the Cellet Centro Cradle is without a doubt the very best cradle + HotSync + battery charging solution available today. It offers the greatest value with the added benefit of a very elegant design and solid build in the slimmest form factor.
Separately, whether you own a Centro or a Treo one of my top and best value accessory recommendations continues to be the SPE Retractable Sync & Charge Cable (see my review). Also, my top Treo cradle remains the Palm Cradle Kit and you should also consider the terrific, ultrasmall and light Treo Battery Charger.
Centronauts always look for the best…

Now that is something worth getting!
? tho, what is with the outline around the spare battery section, looks like it could be lifted out.
Sorian - I agree with you: this is a terrific cradle.
Also, the outline around the battery section is simply decorative and cannot be lifted out - something which adds to the overall robustness of the build.
Cheers, A.
will the cradle still work with some of the case out there?
like the Seidio Super Slim Hybrid Case for Centro or the Seidio Super Slim Rubberized Hard Case for Centro? I choose these two is because they are hard case and they do not add to much form factor to the centro...
I'd love to know if this cradle works with cases as well. It was a pain to have to remove my Treo's skin case, and my Centro's rubberized hard case is not one that I can remove and replace easily.
lmh and Judy: it took me a while to figure it out but I can now confirm that the Cellet cradles does work with the bestselling skin and hard cases (such as the http://store.centronauts.com/smartphone-experts-skin-case/4A54A3305.htm and http://store.centronauts.com/palm-air-case/4A123A3440.htm ).
What you need to do is just remove the translucent front sleeve in the cradle (it pulls out easily) and then there is plenty of space to accomodate either your Centro skin or hard case.
I hope this helps.
Cheers, A.
hi andrews,
kool. so it will still hold up properly without the translucent front sleeve in the cradle...?
One problem I have with this cradle, the rear battery charger does not fully charge the battery.
I get anywhere from 80 to 95% charge, even after leaving it on the charger for 24 hours.
Does anyone else have the same issue?
Hi,
is it hard to remove the Centro from the charging station??? can I remove with one hand??
TIA
Hi. I have the cradle, I have it plugged in and both the blue ready light on the charger and the red charging light on the phone are lit. How do I sync without a sync button? My cradle for the 650 had a button, as does my centro cord.
Help appreciated!
I wish there was access to the audio jack while the Centro is in the charger.
At work I listen to streaming radio while I have the wall wart charger plugged in.
Jason - you should consider getting the Phoneo Cradle Speaker System:

Alternatively, also look at the Audio Stereo Gateway:

(Albeit the above unit requires Softick Audio Gateway software to be installed: http://software.centronauts.com/product.asp?id=5536&n=Softick-Audio-Gateway )
I hope this helps.
Cheers, A.
I have the cradle you're talking about. It will not work with the hard case. I'm sending it back and ordering the Seidio INNODock Jr. I tried to remove the transparent shield and was afraid I would break it.
