Treo 800w Extended Battery
High-Capacity Seidio 2600mAh Extended Battery For Treo 800w More Than Doubles Talk Time to 9 Hours
Although overall feedback from Treo 800w owners has been extremely positive there has nevertheless occasionally been some disgruntlement regarding the overall performance of the relatively low capacity standard 1150mAh batteries which “only” provide 4 hours of talk time.
Until now those power users needing up to 8 hours of uninterrupted work and talk time on their smartphone throughout a typical day have simply chosen to just buy a second spare Palm 1150mAh Battery for Treo 800w but this option means that they have to regularly and methodically remember to charge _both_ of their batteries overnight with for example the Mobi Products Cradle for Treo 800w.
Thanks to the new Seidio 2600mAh Extended Battery For Treo 800w those Treonauts needing absolutely maximum power throughout the day now get an even simpler option that provides them with a stunning 126% more juice than the standard Palm battery – increasing talk time from a single charge to some 9 hours which will delight even the most power hungry.
As with similar previous high-capacity extended Treo batteries, because this Treo 800w Extended Battery is over twice the physical thickness of the original (image above left) it also requires a larger battery door which is conveniently included in your purchase.
In this case the extended Treo 800w battery door (pictured above) adds some 5mm of thickness to a portion of the back of your device. Although I personally don’t have a problem with this larger battery door (I actually find that it increases your grip on the smartphone), I understand that people principally concerned with aesthetics may consider this to be “ugly” while the more pragmatic owners will not mind at all since they are much more focused on the stunning increase in capacity that it offers.
Additionally, those Treonauts that have already bought this Extended Battery next want to find a Treo 800w case that will fit. In this respect I am delighted to see that two of the most popular existing cases for the Treo 800w will allow you to conveniently use the extended battery with no problem at all. The first pictured above right is the bestselling SPE P6 Pouch Case and the second is the Seidio Spring Clip Holster – both of which I highly recommend.
Overall there is no denying that the very option to have a battery that more than doubles the talk time of your smartphone is terrific. In this case, the fact that the Seidio 2600mAh Extended Battery For Treo 800w now offers you up to 9 hours of talk time with the added benefit of a matching battery door that can be used with some of the most popular cases undoubtedly makes it an excellent buy.
Separately, below you’ll find the Top 5 currently most popular Treo 800w accessories:
1. Motorola MicroUSB High Performance Car Charger
Power and battery life has been one of the most debated issues with the Treo 800w. However, it’s evident that the combined use of 3G + WiFi + GPS on a daily basis will drain power on this smartphone faster and this is presumably the reason for the popularity of this Treo 800w car charger (along with a battery and spare wall charger) which allows you to keep your device fully charged while driving to or from work or while on the go.
This Motorola MicroUSB High Performance Car Charger in particular is extremely well built and beautifully designed with a strong and durable coil for extendable reach and the unique lens illuminates when plugged into your vehicle's power socket

I just received mine early last week. It came fully charged so I popped it in around 5pm. By around 11pm my battery gauge still showed around 95%. Wow. This is a huge difference in battery life. The humped back cover was done very nicely, and really isn't too aesthetically displeasing. It also actually is easier to put on and off than the standard cover. While for looks I'd still prefer the original slenderness of the 800w, and thus still primarily use my stock battery, when I have those days (like weekends) when I'm not going to be around a charger I'm popping in the big guns with the Seidio battery. I'll then be mobile without worry about running out of juice.
The battery has a few problems. The backlight on the phone goes out and does not come back on when you press the key. When you switch back to the low capacity OEM battery, it does not happen. Also, when charged overnight, the phone shuts down when fully charged to a black "locked up" screen. No calls come in until you wake up and soft reset the phone a few times. Finally, it is iffy with charging, sometimes not charging at all unless you soft reset the phone.
I have the same problem with the backlight not coming on witht he extended battery. Pop in the small battery that came witht eh phone and viola, problem is gone. Does anyone know what the issue is?
I beg to differ. My wife has experienced both those issues with the standard battery. Her phone is on sprint and is one month old. why would a battery have anything to do with a back light and standby mode problems?
you wouldnt think so, but the battery does mess up the backlight, and the low battery icon on the screen saver even though its half charged... very strange battery.. i wonder if batteried made for the centro specifically do the same thing? i have tried this battery in my friends centro, and it works with no problems. kinda odd! i wonder if the person who wrote this review had any issues cause it seems that everyone has a problem with this! and it aint cheap! do i smell a class action lawsuit?!
