Treo 800w Palm Power & Audio Adapter With Dual Micro USB Ports Allows Simultaneous Connections For Charger + Headset
There’s no doubt that the Treo 800w is a great smartphone but there are two small details that nonetheless hold it back a bit. The first is the relatively low life of its standard 1150mAh battery which at 4.5 hours Talk Time many consider to be too little to power a full workday. The second is the lack of a dedicated standalone physical 2.5mm or 3.5mm audio port on the device (instead of the one dual microUSB power and audio port).
The solution to the first power issue for many has simply been to buy an Extended Battery for Treo 800w that provides a staggering 10 hours of Talk Time and more recently also the Small Extended Battery for Treo 800w that provides 5.25 hours without the need for a large battery door.
The solution to the second audio port issue is a bit less straightforward. On the one hand, a Palm Stereo Headset Adapter with either a 2.5mm or 3.5mm audio port has yet to be released and on the other there are few if any microUSB stereo headsets available aside from the actual Palm Stereo Headset for Treo 800w that comes bundled with the device.
The fact that there is only one microUSB port on the Treo 800w that serves as both a power _and_ audio port also means that you cannot simultaneously charge your smartphone while also using your stereo headset. Thankfully for this problem at least Palm has released a Power & Audio Adapter which allows you to do just this.
As you can see from the image at the top and details above, this Palm Power & Audio Adapter offers two microUSB ports that allow you to simultaneously plug both your stereo headset as well as a charger such as the essential SPE Retractable Sync & Charge cable, a wall charger or even a car charger.
Separately, for all other Treo and Centro smartphones (excluding the Treo Pro) this SPE Stereo Adapter which allows you to use any 3.5mm headset with your device remains one of the most essential accessories.

Does anyone know of a headset WITH VOLUME CONTROL that will work with the 800w? The only microUSB headset that I've come across to date that even HAS volume control is the Nokia HS-82. It definitely DOES NOT work with the 800w. I plug it in and get no sound.
I can't listen to my lecture MP3s on the subway or even on the street using the standard 800w headset because the sound of these particular MP3s is unaudibly low in any kind of modestly noisy environment.
When is going to be a stereo adapter to plug in the Bose headphones for that long trip in the back of the MD80?
