$399 Unlocked Palm Treo Pro
Amazon.com Offers $150 Instant Rebate On Unlocked GSM Palm Treo Pro
If for one reason or another you’re not particularly looking forward to the forthcoming launch of the Palm Pre but still want to get your hands on a high-end smartphone then perhaps Amazon’s current Palm Treo Pro offer will be just right for you.
Amazon.com is currently offering the Unlocked GSM Treo Pro for only $399 – a full $150 below Palm’s MSRP of $549 and the best deal ever on this terrific smartphone (read my review to see why it’s been my personal choice for over six months now).
Among others, the benefit of this Unlocked model is that it allows you to travel across the world with the convenience and freedom to be able to use a SIM card from any one of hundreds of carriers worldwide and therefore greatly save on voice and data roaming charges while abroad.
As you can see on the chart here on the right, in the United States the Unlocked GSM Treo Pro can be used with AT&T as well as T-Mobile (but not with Sprint or Verizon as they use a CDMA network).
The Treo Pro is currently the bestselling unlocked Windows Mobile smartphone on Amazon but other choices include the Nokia E71 ($332), BlackBerry Curve 8900 Javelin ($499), Nokia N95 ($399).

Whether WinMob 6.1 belongs in the top 10 reasons list is likely to be debated... having seriously considered a Pro when it first came out (and opting now for a Pre instead), I have to say WinMob was the main thing holding me back from getting it.
Totally Agree! the single reason i would not buy the Treo Pro is because its Windows Mobile. It if was PalmOS i would have already got it by now.
No, $399 is not the lowest offered by Amazon...it was once on a Gold Box deal for $349 limit 2....
Hmmm, suddenly both Bell Canada (#1 cell provider in Canada) and Telus Mobility (#3) are offering the Treo Pro - and hyping it like it's the very latest thing - as if it hasn't been available to them since last September, when neither of them would touch it.
Interestingly, Rogers (#2 provider) hasn't picked it up. Also interestingly, both Bell and Telus are CDMA providers, and Rogers is GSM.
And most interestingly of all, both Bell and Telus have signed on to get the Pre (Telus apparently some time after Bell, who will be Palm's Canadian launch partner), but Rogers, who have the exclusive Canadian rights to the iPhone, are officially pretending the Pre doesn't exist (at least, when I call and ask, they all feign ignorance).
It would seem that one of Palm's conditions for getting the Pre is to help them clear out all those Treo Pros.
Amazon's current price is 405.98
Also, walmart has it for $418.97
