Palm Pre Getting Ready At Best Buy
Best Buy Launches First Palm Pre Marketing Page
There have been rumours floating for a while that Best Buy will be the “exclusive retailer” (aside from Sprint naturally) of the forthcoming Palm Pre for the first 60 days after launch (ETA June 7th to June 28th).
Aside from this, a couple of days ago the Best Buy website started showing a simple banner stating “Meet the Palm Pre” but it didn’t link to anything. Now Best Buy has finally added a landing page (still very basic) with a full graphic and specifications of the upcoming Palm Pre.
Given Best Buy’s close relationship with both Palm and Sprint we have to assume that the mega-retailer would not be building marketing awareness of this kind without “some” indication that the actual launch of the Pre is getting closer.
No indication on pricing yet but we have to assume that Palm is aiming for a $199 price point to be competitive with other offerings such as the iPhone and BlackBerry.
Preonauts are always ready to go…

I am looking forward to the Pre although I must see one in action first. I have listened to all the hype about the Treo Pro and got snookered. I cannot read much of the screen because the font is like a 1. It freezes, and using a program to use easier makes the ringer stop ringing.
Microsoft Mobile Windows is a turkey operating system, in my opinion. I don't know anyone who actually likes it.
I'm waiting for the launch of the new iPhone 3G this summer. It's probably going to be a minor upgrade, but from what I gather about the Pre, that would make it a far superior phone.
Both Sprint and no direct PC syncing make this phone a bust for me.
Maybe you are unaware Ned, but the Pre doesn't use Windows Mobile, it runs a new version of the Palm operating system...
You may want to check your iPhone and Pre specs one more time before you make such bold statements.
@Ned your a typical Apple fanboy. Anything but Apple sucks. Just keep giving them your credit card and they will keep over charging you. Secondly you should read the article before you post and maybe have a bit of a clue. Apparently you haven't been hearing all the hype behind the Pre since CES.
Have a good Steve Job'less' WWDC. Don't cry the prices he has put in place will still be there.
Yes, as of now, Pre's features is still fall on its specs, we'll know about it until its launch and take a hands on it. We can assure that this will be a great competition, if Blackberry have dethrone iPhone for first quarter we can say (possible) that Pre will dethrone them.
The palm Pre uses Web os... not windows... ahhh apple fanboys....
serious question... my treo 755p claims to record calls it doesn't. to hold ringtones none I want are compatible. play videos, very lil video will play. & I'm told to download items that will enhance these abilitied for a fee. why offer these features if they work very little or not at all? please assist me with what I thought was a quality product that does what it claims. & a suggestion make the treo phone easier to use by usin simple laymans terms in the instructions. Thanks BLACK
Does anyone know for sure whether the initial release of the Palm Pre will be 4G capable? I'm not asking whether a Pre was featured on a 4G commercial - has Palm or Sprint mentioned ANYTHING about 4G with respect to this phone. I don't want to buy a 3G phone when 4G comes out in my neighborhood next year.
