Sprint Comment At NASCAR Event Suggests Imminent Official Launch Announcement
As you might know, Sprint is a significant corporate sponsor of NASCAR as well as IndyCar so it’s not surprising that advertising for the Palm Pre should already be appearing at both events (above and below) – particularly as rumours of an official Palm and Sprint release date announcement point to tomorrow Tuesday, May 19th.

Assuming that Palm and Sprint to make their official announcement tomorrow and that they confirm a launch date of Sunday, June 7th then I very much hope to receive my Palm Pre review unit no later than Monday, June 1st – just two more weeks to wait!

I think you're on the right track with the announcement tomorrow and the Palm Pre release in early June. Those two dates have been floating around the rumor mill and I wouldn't be surprised if they were both correct.
NYT is also reporting that "sources briefed on the company's plans" say Sprint is going to release early June. Here's to hoping!
It is actually hard to comprehend how they had a similar app on my crappy LG VX 5100 (or some phone like that) like 5 years ago on Verizon and now only Sprint phones can have that app (Nascar)...lol.
Now if we can get them to Formula 1 before it self destructs! I could really get into the pre having live F1 on the track...
My roommate got a Prepalm and he said that the cellphone is really fast in every way.
